ORGANNISATIONAL OVERVIEW

Anchor Management Ltd. is a passionate and fresh anchovy supplier which is distributed through two main wholesalers located in Italy and China. The company currently operates in the vibrant waters of AquaWaves, using fishing vessels owned by Anchor Management to bring in regular stocks of fish. We recognised that there was a need to satisfy the gap in the fishing industry, namely the supply shortage of anchovy in international markets. Our goal is to grow our presence in fishing industry exponentially within the next five years.

Striving for innovation and consistency, we aim to implement these aspects consciously to ensure food security. Furthermore, this approach allows us to maintain sustainable fishing practices as we are concerned about future produce and longevity of the oceanic ecosystem. All fish is prepared at our warehouses and once packaged, transported via cooling trucks to their final destination to ensure freshness. We offer a continuity of supply unlike most of the competition in the market.

Vision: To become the most trusted fishing intermediary that provides a sustainable, convenient and ocean-friendly connection between buyers and sellers of fish and fish products.

Mission: Buying only non-endangered fish from trusted sellers and increasing our geographical footprint as to ensure connivence for a wider variety of people.

OUR EMPLOYEES

Paul, our director and founder, has always had an idea of a diverse and uplifting labour force. We currently employ four staff members and we aim to further grow our staff base.

As the company expands we aim to create unique employment opportunities amongst those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and encourage more women to enter higher positions through skills training and development.

Paul, Ben, Arthur, Karen and Sarah play a vital role in ensuring the business operates efficiently throughout it’s day to day operations. Paul and Sarah, the secretary, appointed the first employee named Ben. Ben started as a clerk and as he gains experience he is able to move up the ranks. Arthur and Karen, friends of Ben, officially started on the 15th of February 2020.

Paul (35) – Director and founder, graduated from University of Cape Town with Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Marketing degree.

Sarah (28) – Secretary with experience working at big fishing companies.

Ben (26) – Clerk, graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental studies.

Arthur (25) – Clerk, graduated from the University of Cape Town with Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.

Karen (25) – Clerk, graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental studies
