METHODS OF ENGAGEMENT WITH EACH STAKEHOLDER GROUP
At Anchor Management Limited, our relationships with stakeholders are extremely important to us. This involves ensuring efficient communication between the company and various groups as well as understanding their expectations from Anchor Management as a business. Below is a brief description of the our stakeholder engagement and how we aim to build our relationships.
Employees
Employees have a high level of interest in the company, but carry low power in the decision making as senior management usually has the majority say. The most effective and friendly way to communicate with employees is through interviews before employment takes place as well as discussing any issues at monthly meetings. Satisfaction reports can be sent out on a regular basis to ensure that their needs are attended to and ensure that they feel comfortable in the working environment established for them.
Wholesalers
Wholesalers fall in the same category as employees, but require different forms of engagement. It is imperative that a close and transparent relationship is established with the wholesalers as these are the company’s key clients. Wholesalers should be encouraged to give feedback on the experience they had with each load of produce received to ensure superior service. Understanding the wholesalers is extremely important in order to best secure a future, continuous trade deal.
Boat manufacturers
Anchor Management Ltd. relies heavily on the boat manufacturers’ services to be able to do business. Therefore, they have a significant level of power to affect the company’s operations and high levels of interest as they can profit off sales to the entity. Anchor Management can build a trustworthy relationship with manufacturers by ensuring smooth deals and negotiations. This could allow the company to receive benefits in the future as new boats are bought on a regular basis.
Consumers (customers)
Consumers are the most important feature in any business model. If there is no demand, there will be no supply. Therefore, customers are extremely influential in a business’ operations and decision making. It is of vital importance that the company offers exclusive offers to its consumers to build brand loyalty. However, Anchor Management only sells to wholesalers and thus this form of stakeholder is irrelevant.
AquaWaves Fishing Commission
The regulatory body provide us with permits to fish within certain areas of the ocean. The Commission has low interest in our business but do have a lot of power over our operations. The best form of engagement is to set reasonable goals and a clear sustainability plan to ensure transparent operations that can be easily evaluated. It is also important that the sustainability plan is followed through with as to avoid any accusations of exploitation from the Commission.
Shareholders
As a company, we need to keep our shareholders up to date on how the company is performing financially and what the goal for the business is. Shareholders require detailed explanations on how and where their capital is being utilised, the value the business is creating and prospective future plans. The annual financial statements or an integrated report are a sufficient source to allow shareholders to review the over-all performance of Anchor Management Ltd. If there are any issues that exist, shareholders are encouraged to address it with the company.
Government
The government has the same type of share in Anchor Management as the Commission. We cannot operate if they do not permit us to. Government is permitted to evaluate the procedures of our business to ensure that it is beneficial for the country as a whole. The company should always strive to be transparent about the operations and avoid corruption as far as possible.
Local communities
It is vital that Anchor Management Ltd. adds value to local communities and does harm them in anyway. All operations are aimed at protecting the people and maintaining their environment. This is done by providing jobs to the locals and offering skills development workshops. Furthermore, community protection is carried out is through participation in environmentally friendly operations and sustainable fishing to ensure food security for the communities’ future generations.
Activist Groups
Activist groups can act as a secondary regulatory body. These groups are of importance as they will notify Anchor Management when our operations are not environmentally friendly and do not meet certain standards. Conflict is prevented by participating in open-minded communication and ensuring our operations are up to a the required standard.
